House plan 1522 is an updated version of The Butler Ridge design 1320-D with an upper level instead of a walkout basement. This design is overflowing with curb-appeal with a cedar shake exterior accented with stone and board-and-batten. Decorative wooden brackets highlight the gable peaks while shutters frame the arched windows. The front porch enjoys an arched entry and is topped with a metal roof. The angled, courtyard-entry garage is enhanced by a bay window and multiple gables.

A welcoming foyer offers a coat closet and decorative ceiling beams. A stunning vaulted ceiling tops the great room and a fireplace creates a cozy focal point. Double doors open to a rear porch topped with skylight and the dining room also accesses the rear porch through a sliding door. The kitchen features a center cooktop island that overlooks the living spaces and a walk-in pantry is only steps away.

The garage provides multiple storage options and enters the home through a mud room with a drop zone and adjoining utility room with abundant cabinetry and a laundry sink. A secondary bedroom or study is on the main level and accesses a full bathroom. The master suite has access to the rear porch and features a stunning tray ceiling with a decorative beam inlay. Dual walk-in closets meet every storage need and the master bathroom is truly luxurious with a double-sink vanity, freestanding bathtub, walk-in shower, and a vaulted ceiling.

First floor changes:

  1. Move linen closet in the master suite.
  2. Square-off master bedroom.
  3. Remove set of stairs by the master suite.
  4. Rearrange utility room.
  5. Extend octagonal ceiling in the dining room.

  1. Close balcony overlooking the great room and add shelves.
  2. Remove bathroom on the left.
  3. Enlarge bedrooms.

Love this floor plan with a few suggestions to change. I would love to see upstairs have with 2 bedrooms with a Jack and Jill bathroom that included each bedroom having its own sink area and sharing the toilet and shower. If not possible, would want bedrooms to have their own bathroom. Would love to see a pantry large enough to have a second fridge in it too!

I think enlarge master bedroom To be at least 16’ x 16 or king size bed and other furniture easily. Do not like the range on island I do like the window looking out at the sink that would make room for 36-48 inch range with double oven on wall We have been using Thor appliance package appliance package and it works really really good I would put a prep sink in the island or make it an option in plan Thank you I am a realtor and Builder my cell about 45 houses in there and these are the things that people request

I would make angled dining room smaller & square up to kitchen as breakfast area & make study the formal dining room. Like original upstairs without stairs off family room. Fireplace could go on back wall with family room completely vaulted so beams could be added.

Main level Mud Rm area. Relocate the garage entry self closing man door to align with the garage firewall. That way the man door will be out of the way when it opens. As currently drawn when you enter the house from the garage & open the door you may hit someone in the mud room or someone going up/down the stairs. Change access to the storage area between the mud room and garage to allow for access from the mud room rather than from the garage.
